JAI KUMAR
Vice President
Jai was born and raised in the Fiji Islands, in the village of Visama. Growing up with six siblings in a humble environment without running water or electricity, Jai witnessed firsthand the impact of poverty on his family and community.
Coming from a farming background, Jai's parents instilled in him the values of hard work and helping others. In times of natural disasters like hurricanes, their support to struggling neighbors was crucial. Inspired by his parents' altruism, Jai was determined to carry forward their compassionate legacy.
After facing the loss of both parents before completing high school, Jai had to leave his education to support his siblings by working at the Fiji Times Newspaper Company. In 1983, he married and moved to the US, where he worked as a bindery operator before establishing his own successful bindery shop in Northern California.
Through his business success, Jai has continued his philanthropic efforts since 1994, providing aid to underprivileged students, natural disaster victims, and families in need. After running his business as J’s Bindery for 31 years, Jai recently sold his business and now resides in the Bay Area with his wife Rita. They are proud parents of two sons, Vishal and Gulshan, who have graduated from college and are pursuing their professional careers.
